The figures used in this article were taken from Teleseeq, InfoCom's market intelligence portal, also containing indicators such as revenues, subscribers, market shares and forecasts, on the key telecoms and multimedia markets in over 50 countries in the world.
The data shown about fixed broadband connections refer to xDSL, cable modem and fibre optic (e.g. fibre-to-the-home/FTTH or fibre-to-the-building/FTTB), and includes both residential and business broadband connections. Although figures include business broadband connections we do use household penetration as a way to compare market penetrations between countries.
This article aims to provide a snapshot of the broadband market evolution in Latin America since 2006, focusing on the three largest markets namely Argentina, Brazil and Mexico.
