SD-WAN local access lines

Published: 2018-01-23

The current consensus is 3 active lines or 2 active lines and 1 passive backup line. This is rather likely to increase a little bit in the future, i.e. up to 3 active lines + backup, or possibly 4 active lines. So, SD-WAN in the short- to medium-term is likely to support dynamic path selection across 2 to 3 active lines, with LTE likely to be one of them and possibly supported natively in the SD-WAN box. Besides, most local access lines will be provided by the SD- WAN provider, at least in home markets and key countries, but leaving a growing place for BYOA, especially in more exotic countries.
