The Serbian mobile market: battleground shifting gradually to the postpaid segment

This article aims to discuss the development of Serbia’s mobile market between 2013 up to the first half of 2016. We first present a short socio-economic profile of the country followed by an overview of the country’s mobile market, highlighting the different market players and key mobile subscription characteristics. We then focus on the postpaid segment and highlight the strategies employed by the operators amidst tight competition and market saturation. Finally, we provide an outlook for the next few years especially in light of the entry of mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) in 2016.
