The article discusses the current development in quad play strategies across Western Europe. The discussion tackles selected players in the region with a focus on incumbents that have achieved some success with quad play offers.
The quad play push of early adopters will create competitive pressure that will drive market rivals to offer similar packages to level the playing field. However, it is challenging for CaTV and mobile-only operators to realise quad play offers as they lack the capacity, in terms of network infrastructure, to offer, respectively, mobile and fixed services (fixed line, broadband and TV). Partnerships and M&As are therefore imminent in the mid and long-run.
