This article is based on InfoCom's fixed broadband monitoring service covering 33 countries worldwide. It provides an overview of the top-10 countries among these 33 countries and compares the evolution of fixed broadband connections between 2007 and 2008.
Fixed broadband connections refer to the following technologies: xDSL, cable modem and fibre optic, i.e. FTTx (fibre-to-the-home/FTTH, fibre-to-the-building/FTTB and fibre-to-the-curb/FTTC or else fibre-to-the-node/FTTN, including FTTC/FTTN + VDSL), and includes both residential and business broadband connections.
