Mexico is the second largest telecom service market in Latin America next to Brazil. As seen in Fig. 1, total revenues in Mexico's telecom sector reached US$17.7bn in 2005, a 11.3% growth from the previous year. For the 2005-2011 period the country's total market value is expected to increase by an average of 4.5% per year, reaching US$23bn by 2011. The highest growth rates will be observed in the datacom and Internet segment, triggered by the increasing demand for broadband access services, as well as in the mobile segment.
