Note: Figures for ARPU and SMS traffic are as reported by the operators and may thus differ from modelled ARPU figures found in Teleseeq. At end-2007, mobile penetration rates reached over 100% in many countries in Western Europe, except for instance in Belgium or France. In this region, the total subscriber base increased by 8.8% year-on-year to 458.8 million, of which 16.9% were 3G subscribers. The 3G subscriber base almost doubled in one year.
